and PEFC

The constant concern for the attention to the requirements of its customers and the respect to the natural environment, has led OVELAR S.A. to obtain the double certification in FSC

(FSC-C128305) and PEFC.

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization that aims to promote environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management in the world’s forests. With this certificate, OVELAR guarantees consumers that forest products come from forests that are harvested in a rational manner, in accordance with international standards that take into account environmental, social and economic aspects and that define the minimum levels of good forest management.

PEFC, on the other hand, is a non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable forest management in forests and offers a framework for the establishment of comparable national certification systems and their mutual pan-European recognition. With the PEFC certificate, OVELAR demonstrates that a rigorous control of the sustainable origin of raw materials has been carried out, from their production in the forest, through all intermediate processes, to the final consumer.

OVELAR believes that sustainable forest management and certified paper are important steps towards a near future of environmental responsibility in all areas and will undoubtedly have a great social and business impact in the short term.

FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody certificates are labels that allow OVELAR consumers to recognize products that support the growth of responsible forest management. In the particular case of the printing industry, it is crucial to raise awareness of sustainable forest management and certification, since we are in one of the sectors that consumes the most paper and, therefore, should be more involved in the use of certified paper and forest sustainability.
